These nuts are for the junction between the two halves of the factory exhaust manifold where there's a 3-bolt connection. Kit includes 3 nuts to replace all of the problematic OEM original nuts.
Metric 10mm x 1.5 mm threads, 19mm tall. Takes a 14mm socket or wrench.
OEM thread size with deeper flange for more thread engagement and socket area. The last thread in the nut is a locking thread; another upgraded feature over stock.
Intended for the stock exhaust manifold only, which has M10x1.5 threaded studs between the upper and lower portion. If you have an aftermarket header, those studs are gone and you do not need these.
For those doing lots of track/race time on the factory exhaust manifold, the OEM nuts that hold the 'downpipe' to the upper half of the manifold are a known problem area as the nuts will weld themselves to the studs from the high heat, and when you go to service the transmission, clutch, or anything else that requires removal of the exhaust, you may find that the nuts are seized and can only be removed by cutting.
To solve that problem, these brass nuts were developed. The 360 brass will not seize to the stud and the longer length covers all of the threads and makes them really easy to access for removal, adding insurance and peace of mind for those using their Miatas at the track.
