DESCRIPTION
These are the patented design McGard Spline Drive lugs. Non-hex wheel lug which is both a light weight lug with more gripping surface area than the stock lug (to prevent lossening up under load), and a wheel lock.This kit includes 20 spline lugs and one tool. If you look really close at the picture above you can actually see the two piece nature of this lug by looking into the lug at the bottom of the picture.
The part that touches the wheel (the "seat") stops turning and a bearing between that little ring and the rest of the lug allows the outer part of the lug to keep turning.
What this means for you is that the lugs are not grinding against the surface of your nice new wheels and these lugs go on much smoother than any other lug choice. If you ask what is on our Mazdas here...this is the choice. These fit ALL the wheels we sell and STOCK wheels too!
NOTE: McGard recommends against using an impact gun with this spline drive tool. On our own cars with the McGard spline drive lug nuts, we do use a gun just to spin the nuts on and off faster than by hand, but we always do the final tightening of the lugs and the initial breaking loose of the lug nuts BY HAND.
Fitment notes for RX7 owners: these only fit 1993-1997 FD RX7, not the earlier years.

Lugs appear to be a good quality. One from my last set went missing so I took the opportunity to replace the set. I like the idea that I can order replacements if that happens again.
Waaaay above an EBay set. Highly recommended and the free spinning shoulder is a must if you have nice wheels and want to keep the bores that way!

Installed these on my bronze Konig Ampliforms. Nice lug nut set. Only issue was one the the lugs had silver showing through on the splines. Covered the silver with a black sharpie.
Went with the MCGARD spline lug nuts for the 2 piece design and security. Product looks perfect and would recommend these to anyone.
A very attractive lug nut that will halt 99.9% of the opportunistic thieves. In todays world of high theft, I have comfort knowing my wheels are secure. The socket does not bring as much comfort being quite thin walled to fit within the wheel so I picked up a backup just in case. I can see the wall splitting with little torque applied. But all considered, I am quite pleased with this set.
After communicating with Brian, I ordered these to use on my new 17x8 Hypergrams, which have a deep and narrow lug hole. These lugs are really nice, great finish and perfect fit. They are really light and a perfect match for my new wheels.
After direct inquiry with Brian Goodwin, I ordered these for the first time to use on my new 17x10 Hypergrams, which has a very deep and narrow lug hole. Like others mentioned, these lugs a pretty slick. They're super light, have a great fit and finish, and work as advertised to keep from scratching up your wheels.
I also prefer that the lugs are close-ended for stock studs and not sticking our like your average tuner lug, but this is because it's street application. I've proudly showcased and recommended them to a few local Miata club members for the same practical application and will definitely buy more for my other NC.

Bought these to accent and protect new Enkei TM7s for my 3. Cost a bit more than run of the mill spline drives, but worth every penny! Love the quality, look, and functionality of these! Amazingly fast shipping from Goodwin Racing as well!!!
Sounded kinda weird at first but is actually a slick product. Wish I had them for my other car years ago because regular lugs messed up the clear coat at the lug seats! Good call GWR!
