DESCRIPTION

Anodized Aluminum Clutch Pedal Extension for the 1990-2005 Miata. A Goodwin Racing exclusive! Designed specifically for the NA and NB generation MX5 pedal for use with factory all rubber pedal covers. NOT a universal or generic part that *kind of* fits.

CNC cut from solid aluminum and then anodized for a durable finish. The result is a rigid part that will last a lifetime.

The clutch pedal extension spacer gives you better reach to the clutch pedal. If you feel like you have the perfect seat position for your height, arms and legs... but when you press that clutch pedal all the way to the floor your leg has to stretch a bit, and you don't want to adjust the seat forwards to fix that because then you're too close to the wheel, then this is your solution.

This extension spacer adds 1.5" to the height of the clutch pedal so that your leg doesn't have to strain to get that pedal all the way down at stop lights, in traffic, etc.

Great for anyone with shorter legs, but also works to improve comfort for those of "average" height too. Tall guys with long legs - this isn't for you, because you don't have the problem that this item solves.

Mazdaspeed Miata NOTE: The 2004-2005 Mazdaspeed Miata comes with special rubber/aluminum pedal covers. Because the metal is bonded to the rubber, the covers are less flexible than a standard Miata all-rubber cover, and so it is much more difficult to get those pedal covers on. Some tricks in addition to the ones listed in the install notes below are to use a hair dryer to warm up and soften the rubber a bit (helps with removal of the covers from the pedal at first too), and use soap and water to help lubricate the rubber to get it on the new extension.

Install notes: You will need a 4mm allen wrench, which is NOT included, the T style shown below is the most easy for opening the extension but a small 90 degree style is easier to complete the install within the tight pedal area. Remove the rubber grip from your factory clutch pedal. Then slide each half of the extension over the clutch pedal so that the metal pedal pad slides into the grooves inside the extension. Once both halves are on the pedal and merged together, install both bolts to hold the extension together (drop of thread locker won't hurt if you got it). Finally, install the rubber pedal pad onto the new extension. Note that the rubber is HARD to stretch over the extension. That's normal, and necessary for it to have a snug fit so that it doesn't move. A small metal pick with a bend in it can help you get the flap of the rubber underneath the lip of the extension. If your current rubber pedal pad is worn out or torn, it may not stay securely on the pedal extension. If it's easy to get the pad on/off, then it is likely worn thin and/or torn. You can get a fresh rubber pad from your Mazda dealer.

RoadsterSport NA/NB Clutch Pedal Extension

What a perfect solution for my problem!
I am five foot seven inches tall and just bought an NB miata. When I adjust my seating position to where my gas and brake were at the right position, the clutch pedal was too far for comfort. And when i adjusted seating position to where clutch was at a good distance, well then the gas and the brake were too close. This is a genius and perfect solution for all of you short kings (or queens) out there, lol. And also worth noting, the build quality and ease of installation are great!

Recently put in a sparco sprint but my legs were a little too short to reach the clutch comfortably. The pedal has given me a lot more room to work with in terms of seat positioning. Was not too hard getting the rubber around with a screwdriver.

Great product. I am 5-10 and this makes the clutch petal height perfect.

Pretty good so far! I'm 5,5, with a 30in inseam. With the stock NB wheel, it's was really hard to rev match as I had to sit pretty close to the wheel, with the clutch extension, it do give some more flexibility. I wear a 9.5 shoe and haven't really had any issues with the deadpedal so far.

Pro tip for Mazdaspeed Miata owners - As mentioned in the item description, rubber is molded into the aluminum pedal shape. At first, I basically gave up on trying to take off the clutch pedal cover as it was on so tight. I ended up driving around for about 30min and the heat from the engine was enough to substantially loosen the rubber. Once warm, pull from the top part of the pedal and basically rip the pedal off. I haven't tried putting the pedal back on the extension as it feels fine with out it so I can't comment on that process.

5'8" and I'm happy with my purchase. Legs don't strain as much when I'm fully clutched in. Whole world of comfort.

Fitment was a little bit iffy but that could be due to drill holes on clutch from previous owner. Once I got the bolts to bite and hold (after sanding a bit), I just tighten until I was able to fit rubber pad on it.

I'm 5'3" with a 25" inseam, needless to say, I'm the target demographic for this part. Initial impressions, fantastic build quality and perfect fit, easy install (as long as you have a good pedal pad). Only downside is it won't be possible to install M2-1002 pedal covers with this block, so I'll have to go with something else.

I was out of the Miata for about a year and after driving it again really noticed how much of a reach the clutch is compared to my daily. The extension makes a massive difference. If anything it might be adding a little too much height, but I still have stock seats and will probably be glad for it once they are changed to race buckets.

I'm 5'8" and am delighted with my clutch pedal extension. Arrived just in time for my club's participation in the town's community parade, with lots of starts and stops. Easy install, quality part.

I'm one of the average sized folks (I'm about 5'10", 5'11") mentioned in the product description and I recently installed a Thrash Racing Street Spec Alpha seat using a PCI adjustable mount (also ordered from Good-Win). The new seating position is great for everything but reaching the clutch pedal, which I honestly had problems with in the stock seat, too. This extension is sturdy and well-made. It took me like 3 minutes to install, and it adds a perfect amount of extra height to the pedal. I'd recommend it to anyone as a simple, effective solution to a frustrating problem.

I have short legs and this is the best thing I have installed to date. I can move the seat further back makes driving much more fun!!!!!
