I recently installed the Bilstein B8 shocks with the GWR 36 White/58 Red bump stop kit. I am currently riding on the Eibach/I.L. Motorsport 40mm Sport lowering Springs. What a significant improvement it has made in the ride quality! The ride and handling is exactly what I was looking for. The B8s have given me back additional travel that I had lost with the OEM dampers. Previously, the suspension used to hit the OEM bump stops all the time. With these shorter bumpstops and the B8s, I have not hit the bump stops a single time! The handling is sublime. Perfect combo for my daily driver. I am enjoying driving more than ever as a result of these products. I plan to swap out my EIbachs for the Progressive lowering springs based on recommendations from GWR to gain back even more travel while still maintaining a lowered profile. I've learned my lesson to save time and headaches by contacting the folks at Good-Win Racing, first, before making any purchases! The added benefit of their hands-on experience and specialized expertise is worth it's weight in gold! Let their hindsight be your foresight! Hands down, GWR is the BEST!
I bought and installed these with the progress springs, I didn't expect much from lowering the car only 1/2 inch, but I was wrong. The car corners like it's on rails and rides much smoother than the stock setup. I used the harbor freight strut spring compression tool for the fronts and a floor jack to push the rear mount into position. The biggest surprise to me was it didn't change my alignment.
I used these shocks with the Progress Tech springs for better handling and keeping a comfortable ride on the street. No way! The ride was very harsh. The shocks are not compatible with stock springs.
