DESCRIPTION

The RoadsterSport PPF brace is designed to reduce slop in the transmission by bracing the PPF against the rear subframe. This brace also improves traction by reducing wheel hop, a must for boosted applications. These braces are made in the USA from ultra light honeycomb aluminum for maximum strength and powder coated to last a lifetime.

Brian's Application Notes: Great mod for race cars, but for street cars, notice that you will pick up more gear whine because this item works by taking away much of the isolation effects of the bushings on the factory power plant frame.

INSTALL NOTES:
The challenge with install of this brace is it is made for a 'perfect' Miata, and just about every Miata these days with 20+ years on them isn't as straight as they used to be, and they have all had the PPF disconnected at one point or another for things like clutch service, etc. so things are not aligned quite as they were from the factory. So in fact, first attempt at test fitting the brace is shows how far off the car is. So on some cars install is easy, but on many cars install requires that you loosen all bolts and also loosen the PPF at both ends and slightly loosen the differential, get the brace installed loosely, and then slowly snug up all the bolts evenly. You'll end up with a car that is back much closer to how it's supposed to be.

Hardware: Kits come with four bolts. Two are fine thread, and two are coarse thread. 1999-2000 Miata will use the coarse thread bolts, and 2001-2005 Miatas will use the fine thread bolts.

RoadsterSport PPF Brace for NB Miata

Like a previous review stated, spend the $150! Cleaned up SO much slop in my drivetrain, and I am all about things that help the suspension do what its supposed to do. I haven't noticed any difference in diff noise, granted I wouldn't mind it anyway. I didn't have much issues with alignment but I did have to get a new bolt and nut for one of the supplied. The OE welded threads broke off on my passenger side and cross threaded on the bolt. M12 1.25 if anyone else has that issue! Aside from that totally worth it!

SPEND THE $150!

HUGE improvement for the money if for no other reason than seeing how far out of alignment your power plant is. My car was a "worst case" scenario needing everything loosened to get it installed and I had to put a spud bar in the front dif bolt on the PPF and pry/yank hard enough that I was worried about the car coming off the jack stands to get the last bolt in place.

Once installed there was a noticeable difference in the way the car rides and drives. No gear whine and vibration was actually reduced (driveshaft vibration maybe). Before the car would shudder on even a normal start from a dead stop, but no longer. Haven't tried a hard launch yet, but I am confident it will help.

The rear end actually seems more planted and doesn't shake as much on rippled roads like it used to.

Money VERY well spent!

Rear-end is noticeably smoother and flatter at all times. With 225x45x15s, a full and fresh set of polyurethane bushings and dampers throughout, together with fresh PSS-9s, as the tail begins to break free in a turn, feedback through the seat and the wheel is less violent, less sudden, and more aligned to speed than it was without the assembly. Easy to install. Incredible value for what it adds to the driving experience.

Wow! Wuh-OW!!!! Wow.

....Wow....just....wow.

It's a must have. I already have a ton of bracing so didn't think I'd feel anything more. Wow! It's fantastic.

Bought this to reduce wheel hop and tighten up the drivetrain and it worked as expected! Wheel hop is all but eliminated and the car just "steps to the side" a little and as the LSD grabs it takes off from a 3.5k launch with 200tw tires. I also noticed that the shifter barely moves when going off/on throttle driving where as before it moved a good amount. Thanks for a great product at a great price!
