At 1/2" thick, it's engineered multilayer construction blocks heat and absorbs engine and road noise. Pre-cut for an easy fit and quick installation.

DEI Miata Under-Carpet Insulation Kit
I replaced the carpet in my 2003 and wanted to upgrade my under pad as well. This kit is GREAT! It was sort of amazing how after I put it down, the car was almost eerily quiet in my garage... it soaked up ambient noise and I'm certain on the road it will both quiet and insulate very well.
The set was really well cut and easy to install. The only "issue" I had was that it is SO thick, re-installing carpet on top of it was more difficult, but that is unavoidable.
I installed this instead of a closed cell foam layer, and I'm really glad I did.
I highly recommend this kit!
