Hard Dog M3 SPORT Roll Bar

DESCRIPTION

Built from heavy wall 1.75" diameter tubing bolted to the 6 factory hoop anchor points these bars are a serious upgrades from the stock NC equipment. The factory cross brace is reused to save money, no complications with remounting OEM accessories. Plastic interior panels are easily reinstalled and no alterations to the stock seat belts are required.

Allows full seat travel and tilt

The M3 Sport shares the same main hoop as the M3 Hard Bar and the attachments to the 6 factory hoop mounting points. Additional support is provided by 2 rearward braces with large 3/16" mounting and back-up reinforcement plates anchored with grade 8 bolts and self locking nuts. Because of the rearward braces the M3 Sport is not compatible with the power retractable hard top.

Full interior height: 3-1/4" Taller than the factory metal hoops.

HARDTOP OPTION:
The standard version of this bar has the highest possible main hoop that allows complete use of soft top only. The Hardtop option will result in the main hoop being slightly shorter so that is will also clear under a removable fixed hard top. BUT NO VERSION FITS WITH THE PRHT (Power Retractable Hard Top).

HARNESS BAR OPTION:
An integral (welded in) harness bar may be added to any version of this bar.

SPEAKER BRACKET OPTION:
This option adds a bracket for the factory Bose speaker on to the harness bar. Because it is welded to the harness bar, you cannot order this bracket without also selecting the option to have a harness bar.

REMOVABLE FORWARD BRACE OPTION:
This is often referred to as a "Petty Bar". This bar goes from the top of the main hoop down into the passenger foot well. This bar is removable, so it can be removed for street driving, and bolted in just for track days. Obviously, you cannot have a passenger while it is installed. Despite this bar being removable, you cannot order it separately later - you MUST order the roll bar with this addition at the same time, because the receiver that this bar connects to must be welded to the roll bar during production.

Inventory at Hard Dog fluctuates constantly with dozens of different bar models and configurations, and they are a small business that does not have an automated way to tell us if something is or isn't in stock at a given time. Some parts of the year they have inventory built up on hand, but there are many times in the year when roll bars and associated items are in high demand that they run out of most of the popular models and lead times can extend to 4-6 weeks. When we send your order to them, that's when they will let us know the estimated lead time for your order.

BRIAN'S APPLICATION NOTES: A budget choice comes with some budget compromises. The use of the factory cross member means additional time with install and a much less torsional rigid result as compared with the Blackbird choice. The SPORT adds supports to the rear in the lower portion of the bar but note that SCCA rules require rear supports be in the upper third of the bar...which means the lower supports on these bars may not get you into all track events requiring rear supports. For obvious reasons this will not install in a PRHT.
