Racing Beat HighFlow Miata Intake

This is a nice item. The engine breathes better @3500+rpm. If you are not planning to add a turbo or a blower any time soon then this is a must have. There's a bit of performance gain when the engine is wound up. Racing Beat claims a 6hp gain when applied on a 95 Miata on their dyno and I believe it. It's a bit pricey, but I like the fact that it's a CARB legal intake since I live in CA.

The intake functions great and gives the engine a bit of growl at 4000 RPMs or higher. Call me crazy but I felt a noticeable difference in performance too. However, the installation was more of a hassle than I felt it should have been. The mounting brackets for both the intake and the cruise control relocation kit require a bit of tweaking to achieve a desired fit (not a big deal though). The only other problem I had was with the softness of the metal of the pre-drilled screw holes on the intake bend. I nearly stripped the inner threads because of how tight the fit was. Other than these small issues the intake works great, looks great, and I'd recommend it.
