DESCRIPTION

Singular Motorsports 2.5" and 3" brake ducts are designed to fit all 1990-2005 Miatas with wheel sizes 14" and up.

This package includes:

* Pair of Brake Ducts

* 2 Aluminum Air Inlets

* 4 Stainless Steel High Torque Hose Clamps

* 13 ft of High Temperature Silicone reinforced double wall hose

Installation Notes:

Two popular locations for the air inlets are the sides of the radiator mouth or in fog light holes. We recommend securing the brake duct hose with zip ties to the under tray or sway bar. Take care to check clearance with the wheel to avoid contact or rubbing.

Key features of our brake ducts include:

Precision Waterjet and TIG Welded
Lightweight Aluminum Construction
Reduced Brake Temperature
Increased Rotor and Pad Life
Improved Brake Consistency
Made In The USA

Note: There are some limitation to the hose size which you can run to the ducts:

2.5" hose is compatible with the factory under trays, requiring little to no modifications . We recommend the 2.5" brake ducts for those who want the most cooling ability with the least amount of modification. 2.5" hose can clear 15x9" wheels with the factory undertray intact and without the use of any spacers.

In most cases, 3" hose requires a non-factory or fabricated under tray to clear 9" wheels or larger. With the factory plastic undertray removed, 3" hose will clear 15x9 and 15x10 with a 5mm spacer.

We recommend users run the largest size brake ducts that they are able to accommodate on their car. Brake pad and rotor life is increased further with the larger diameter units, as well as a larger reduction in operating temperatures.

ABS SENSOR NOTE: Those with ABS will notice that the ABS sensor wire wants to interfere with the brake duct plate. This can be easily solved by swapping the front ABS sensors from left to right and vice versa. There is no difference between the left and right side sensors, they are interchangeable other than the wire orientation where it exits the sensor being reversed. The wiring does head downwards initially rather than upwards but this a very trivial concern, and doesn't cause any issues.

Singular Motorsports 2.5" Brake Duct Package

After a bit of a wait for the 2.5 inch brake duct package I was very happy with the quality of the items delivered. Removing the old disc back plates was easy, following the Singular Motorsports instructions. I used a pair of aviation style snips to cut out a "vee" segment out from its edge as close to the hub as I could, and then twisted the plate back and forth a couple of times and off they came.

Installing the new back plates was easy, as each one fit perfectly.

I installed the small air intakes for the ducting provided in the package onto my aftermarket radiator grill with a couple of small cap head screws and nuts, then ran the ducting to the new disc back plates supported by large Zip Ties on the anti-roll bar.

One slight issue was the fit of the ducting onto the back plates. Singular Motorsports did a really nice job of coating the plates with a fairly thick silver paint. The thickness of the coating made fitting the ducting a bit of a struggle as it is so flexible its hard to get it started on the tube section of the back plates. So I would recommend cutting the internal metal spring within the ducting back about a quarter of an inch from the end of the duct fabric. This makes it easier to start the ducting onto the tubes and then you can twist it all the way into place and install the hose clamps.

Backing plate fits pretty good but extremely close to abs sensor. The hose is good quality and you only use 2/3rds of it so you're left with spare. The inlets are meh as I run the ducts to the fog lights I had to make a flange to mount the inlets properly. I personally run the ducts at the bottom of the undertray with one ziptie as it gave me the best clearance and the lest amount of bandage the the sway bar/steering rack.
