PART NUMBER: 61-2335
Manufactured by Ken Auto Japan in collaboration with I.L. Motorsports, Ken Auto has reduced the weight of the second generation rear frame brace (dosukoi) for the 1990-1997 Mazda Miata. The brace connects the two rear tie down points on the Miata and greatly reduced noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) if you are running polyurethane differential bushings.
This brace also reduces chassis twist that is becoming more and more noticeable as the Miata ages. Modern performance tires are continuing to evolve and produce grip unheard of even 5 years ago thus accelerating wear.
Sean's Application Notes: This is a must have for street customers running stiffer differential bushings. The reduction in noise was unbelievable!

Super light-weight yet completely stiff. From its lightness and its strength, I got the impression that this brace was designed to be as strong as it is without any excess material as much as possible, meaning every square inch of the material of this brace is functional, and thus no unnecessary weight. Like a less is more philosophy? I don't know for sure but its what I can gather. I basically wanted a rear brace only if I could be confident that the benefits would outweigh any added-on weight.
I considered a few different braces to attach in this particular location, and this one seemed the best in terms of weight and price.
In terms of bracing I imagine this is one of the last braces worth getting, as you'll probably get much more effect from bracing other sections of the miata first.
I wish ken auto made more products this elegant. (elegant is honestly the word that comes to mind to describe this brace).
I don't have any rear tow hooks and I'm not sure if there are ones that can work with this brace without doubling up on mounting points or something.. (if that's even a possible/wise thing to do) so if you want a rear tow hook this brace might not be for you.
Otherwise I'm quite happy with this knowing how light yet strong it is.
Super easy to install. It appears to be well-built and fit exactly like it's supposed to. My car feels tighter on the pot-hole riddled streets of Oakland!
