R-4 Full Race Compound Designed specifically for heavy-duty motorsports.
The carbon based semi-metallic R-4 materials allow the pad to absorb tremendous amounts of heat and dissipate it at very even rate. Carbon Kevlar material warms up to race temperature quickly, which is quite helpful during restarts, and when track time is limited. When used with cast iron and steel alloy rotors, the R-4 compound requires minimal bed-in period. Throughout the entire heat range, the carbon kevlar material will give extremely consistent modulation and predictably. This is truly the most rotor friendly racing brake pad material ever.
Good for road courses, oval track, rally, vintage racing, autocross, club events or professional racing events.

These pads held up well through 4 x 25 minute sessions at Sebring. I used the R4s on the font and R4-1s on the rear. I had no brake fade and the rotors look good with just a bit more pad residue than I have had with other brands. The car is relatively stock with just a set of mild lowering springs and cat back exhaust.
I used the R4-1s on the front at the last event but they degraded pretty quickly and left a lot of residue on the rotors hence the move to the R4s. The noise level between the R4s and R4-1s is about the same. A bit of squealing on the street until they are bedded in and then it goes away. I will move to R4s on the rear when the current pads wear out.
Overall I would recommend the R4s for street and light track use and have found the noise and cold street use are fine.
Hands down the best overall street, autoX and track pad ive used. They are a little dirty, dont squeak too much, need alittle bit of time street driving to warm up but great pads!
