To ensure OEM quality and performance we use genuine Mazda parts with our Sport Shifter. Complete with instructions and ready to install.
Does not include shift knob....but does include new small shift boot shown here.

COBALT Short Throw Shifter Kit for 5 speed
Going from a worn out OEM shifter assembly with 192k miles on it to this shorter setup and fresh bushings has made an almost unbelievable difference. Aside from the lack of noise and heat the old dust boot let in, shifts now happen telepathically and with the kind of solid mechanical precision you get from a high end bolt-action rifle. Installation is ridiculously simple even for beginner mechanics (YouTube helps a ton), as for tools a 10mm socket and a Philips head will get the job done in about 40 minutes. Honestly this is a must do perfomance modification/quality of life improvement that will make you love driving your MX-5 even more.
