DESCRIPTION
Developed to stiffen any Miata chassis, this assembly proves most beneficial when using any relatively strong aftermarket sway bar, including Racing Beat's tubular bar.This kit both effectively minimizes chassis flex that reduces sway bar performance and eliminates possible cracking of the sway bar chassis mounts that results from repeated hard cornering. Includes the blocks and bolts shown by blue arrow AND the white cross brace seen here which connects and boxes both the mounting points on both side of the car.
Fits all 1990-2005 Miatas.
*Old version used to not work with 90-95 cars that had Power Steering, but new updated version now works with all years with or without PS.
BRIAN'S APPLICATION NOTES: IF you want to install protection that you can forget see our product item 20-1021 HD mounts. These blocks and bolts are MUCH easier to install but need to be checked for tightness at least once a year.
Watch the Video by STR Racer Mike Heinitz. First video is WITHOUT protecting the mounts and the deflection under load is half an inch, which will eventually tears those mounts!

Racing Beat Sway Bar Brace Kit - Front
I think this is a really well packaged kit and a great idea. The rear of the car is absolutely planted now with this kit and a larger front sway bar. The car was very tail happy on my Tein Flex Z's, but this helps to calm it down. I would recommend it to avoid the hassle of installing the heavy duty mounts, or having to deal with a broken sway bar mount. I do have some tips I found for installing, though.
I had to flip the cross brace around to where it was backwards because it wouldn't clear the fans on my aftermarket radiator. I have just enough clearance with it facing rearward. I hope it still works as well in this direction. Also, when tightening the nuts on the braces pushing into the frame, I found that it was easiest to unbolt the nearby fender well cover and push it forward to be able to access the nuts from the front of the mount, closer to the front bumper. This especially worked on the drivers side, where the coolant hoses and power steering lines made it difficult to access from the rear of the brace.
Packaged well, easy install with the enclosed directions. The brace fits perfect and all the hardware is exact. Installed a larger sway bar at the same time so I can't specifically say what I've felt since installing this but watch the videos and you'll see. With the bar installed as well though, it was a HUGE difference.
