PART NUMBER: 61-0847
PAIR of new Engine mounts. For the serious Miata performance enthusiast we bring you polyurethane motor bushings for the NA and NB Mazda Miata MX5 in substantially upgraded mounts. The stock Miata soft engine mounts allow a great deal of motor movement...so much that autocrossers and track day racers have complained to us for years about high speed shifts that can be vague and difficult. Our upgraded Mazda MotorSport bushings (sold elsewhere on this same website) fix just half the problem but leave the weak stock mounts (which also tend to deteriorate over time).
These COMPLETE upgrade mounts dramatically reduce motor movement for much more precise operation of your shifts and much more direct application of power to the ground.
Price is per PAIR.
What durometer is best for you?
AWR has been making high performance Miata mounts since 1995. The design has been updated to a larger bushing size which helps reduce NVH, specifically reducing cabin vibration. Alongside a larger bushing design, they recently launched a tested and proven 62 durometer Energy Suspension polyurethane option which is perfect for daily and street use. Are you looking for stability without much NVH transferred to your vehicle? 62 durometer is the perfect solution for you.
62 durometer is recommended for daily drivers with limited modifications where minimizing NVH is the priority.
70 is recommended for intermediate modification levels and for mixed use between street and competition.
88 - 95 durometer is recommended for track-focused builds.
You can always opt for a different durometer if your first choice doesn't suit your needs, all of AWR's bushings can be swapped out or replaced!
62 durometer (ultra soft)
70 durometer (soft)
88 durometer (medium)
95 durometer (hard)
BRIAN'S APPLICATION NOTES: We use a set of 70 durometer in our supercharged Miata. The 88 and 95 Durometer are so stiff they should be considered RACE CAR ONLY (with the 95 duro for high HP Cars). Track and autocrossers who also drive on the street should look to our 70 durometer mounts!!! Note first day they feel brutally stiff, they take about 500 miles of use to break in. (photo shows stock piece on right). Yes, even the 70s are MASSIVELY stiffer than stock mounts and you will notice it.... don't do it unless you race! Note we assemble these to order, please allow time for item to be assembled and packed.

First off these mounts are gorgeous! Too bad no one will ever see them. My car is NOT raced. It's being modified for the street. I chose the 62 Durometer bushings and that was the correct choice. When I started the car for the first time and drove it a number of vibrations disappeared. If I could buy all the bushings for the car in a 62 Durometer I would! The NVH decrease is noticeable with no downside in performance.
Installation tip: Stock exhaust still installed. To install the driver side mount you need to put the pieces into the area/space separately and then put the bolt through the bushing. There is no room to install the main bolt if everything is attached to the motor and the cradle. Tried that! No go.
Thanks to AWR for a wonderful product! Thanks Tony!
I installed these mounts on my 10AE Miata. Previously, I felt body roll and could see the engine shifting in engine bay on start up. That is all gone now. The vibrations are very noticeable at start up. I am still working in the new mounts (200 miles). But the vibrations at idle are worth it. As soon as I am rolling the the value of this install is obvious. Shifting feels different through the whole range. Well worth it! Thanks GWR and previous reviewers for information and guidance!!
I bought these mounts for my 1990 Miata with built 1999 engine. It is running a Fast Forward Supercharger at 330hp and 21psi boost. The Goodwin team warned me ahead of time about the vibration and they were correct. At install and first start, it was a lot of shake. Fear set in that maybe I made a mistake. However, as soon as it came off idle, the vibration all but disappeared. After about 100 miles, the vibration had subsided to bearable even at idle and, by 500 miles, it was very acceptable at idle for the benefit received.
At 330hp, the shifts from 2-3 were literally hit or miss. Nothing like foot to the floor acceleration to 7200 rpm and then shifting from 2nd to 5th.
In any case, I would recommend these for anyone who has serious hp and wants to not miss a shift. If it is only for street use or lesser hp levels, perhaps the lower durometer would be plenty.
Finally got a chance to pull my old mounts out and install these today. The old mounts weren't even mounts, just resting places for the engine.
After the install and just the start-up I knew things were going to be fun. Yes, they turned my Noir's cockpit into a subwoofer of sound. Yes, the mirrors just show me blurs of what is behind. Yes, The steering wheel and pedals let me know everything moving in the engine. But that is great! Now when I grab the shifter third is where I left her and not out to lunch somewhere. I know the RPM without looking at the tach cause I feel it. And that sound... I am pleased.
Thanks GWR for your great service. Fast delivery. And wonderful products.
PS: I'll update this after 100 mi. break-in. Sure I'll be just as happy!
