DESCRIPTION
Hydraulic hood lift kit by Cobalt uses a hydraulic shock on one side of the hood to assists in opening the hood and keeps it open. Installation requires no drilling or riveting on your hood and is completely reversible.
Ships with hardware and installation instructions.
Easy Engine Access - Struts mount near cowl so engine is accessible from the sides without needing to reach around the strut as on other kits.
Progressive Struts - Once hood is opened half way the struts gently lift it to the fully open position. Other kits use inexpensive linear struts that are either too strong, causing the hood to raise fast and come to a shuddering stop, stressing components, or too weak, requiring you to lift the hood all the way open yourself.

Cobalt Hood Lift Kit
The Colbalt Hood Lift kit is easy to install. It is really simple. 15 minutes DYI
Gives you a better look and gets the hood stick out of the way. Recommend.
I read the reviews, I read the instructions and then did the installation. It took about 20 minutes, and they work perfectly. MAZDA should have built them all this way.
I was unable to completely install my Lift Kit due to a fitment issue. I installed the upper brackets to test fit with the hood closed and discovered the upper brackets were pushing up the hood. In order for me to install these, I would have to cut the plastic shield where the bracket would rest. I think I'll need to do some cutting of the plastic shield in order for this to work.
Easy order, quick delivery. Easy install even with parts mislabeled (R&L were backwards). Took 1/2 hour. It works great. How nice to have a hood open and stay open, like the old days.
