Aurora Auto Design Low Profile Seat Mount V2.0 - Driver Side

At 6' 2" one of my biggest complaints about my RF was that despite fitting comfortably, I always felt like a Mario Kart character sitting more on top of the car than inside it.

I went back and forth on purchasing this mount for months due to the cutting required on the stock seat base, but I couldn't be more happy that I took the plunge. I'm very much a novice when it comes to wrenching but I'm competent enough that with clear instructions and the right tools I can get it done. The instructions for this are some of the most detailed I have ever seen and they made the installation a completely stress free experience. It's clear that a lot of thought went into every aspect of this seat mount and it couldn't have made me more comfortable in both the install process and the thought of having it anchoring my body to the car.

A friend was kind enough to let me borrow his garage and tools. It took me about 5.5 hours from disconnecting to reconnecting the battery, and I was moving at a leisurely pace. I probably could have done it in 3.5-4 but I was being extra cautious with lots of double and triple checking. Someone more confident and experienced could probably knock it out in 2-3 hours.

I had one complication when reinstalling the seat where I found that one side of the mount was just slightly too bent at the front mounting point, so I used some vise grips to correct the angle by eye and then it mounted up perfectly. I foolishly lost about 45 minutes to this because I reconnected the wiring harness to the car before I discovered this issue and that thing is a tricky devil to detach.

Now that it's mounted up it almost feels like a different car. I have much more headroom than I expected to have with the top up. I could now put on a helmet and pass the broomstick test with room to spare and no slouching. The slightly increased rake of the seat with this mount wasn't something I expected but I'm massively enjoying. My long legs are now actually making use of the front thigh support instead of being bent over it. The new seating position instills much more confidence from my body fitting the car so much better.

I couldn't recommend this more to any tall drivers looking for a better fit. It's absolutely worth the small amount of effort required and is a much easier job than the generously detailed instructions could make it seem to the uninitiated!
